HOW TO STAY POSITIVE ON THE FOOTBALL PITCH!

Five ways you can make the most out of negative situations!

1

When someone is mean to you from the sidelines…

People shouldn’t be shouting at you from the sidelines. Have a word with your coach in a break of play so they can address the problem. Try not to let it affect you and focus on your game!

When you don’t understand a drill in a training session…

Be honest about it. Explain to your team-mate or your coach about the part you’re struggling with and ask for advice. They can then break it down for you and help you improve!

3

When your team loses three games in a row…

Forget the past few results and view the next game as an opportunity to start a new unbeaten run – don’t worry about another defeat. Just be confident and express yourself!

4

When you start a game on the subs’ bench…

Accept the manager’s decision, then have a proper warm-up and be ready to make an impact from the bench. It’s important to channel your frustrations and wait for your chance!

5

When you get taken off free-kick duty…

It’s rare for a player to consistently deliver results from set-pieces, so the gaffer might be trying something different. Keep practising your tekkers in training and you will improve!
